This Li-SOCl2 battery from Tadiran is perfect for the high current pulses that Notecard can experience when in a region that requires the use of GSM networks. We've tested numerous batteries with Notecard-based applications and, with the ability to handle sustained 2A pulses and high capacity retention over a number of years, Tadiran Li-SOCl2 batteries are second-to-none. Add one of these batteries to your project and rest easy that your Notecard will stay online for as long as you need.
This product is based on the Tadiran TLP-93111 and was modified for Blues to include a JST connector so that you can easily use it with any of our Notecarriers.
Due to regulations in shipping batteries containing lithium, international shipments of this product are unavailable at this time.

Add Notecard to Arduino MKR and PRO boards with this slim Notecarrier!
Notecarriers are companion development boards designed to make it easy to prototype and deploy IoT solutions with the Notecard.
Notecarrier R is a small form-factor Notecarrier, only slightly larger than Notecard itself. Unlike other Notecarriers, Notecarrier R does not include an external SIM slot. It’s similar to Notecarrier B, but instead of a Qwiic connector, it has an ESLOV connector common to many Arduino MKR and PRO Portena boards. ESLOV provides I2C pins, as well as an additional GPIO, which we’ve connected to Notecard’s ATTN pin.
Included is a flexible Molex 209142 antenna for use with either LTE or GPS. If you require a dual LTE/GPS antenna, we recommend adding on the flexible LTE+GPS antenna (or you may choose to use your own preferred antenna).
Notecarriers require a Notecard to function. Notecarrier R is compatible with all available Notecards. See the Notecards section for more details or get started with a Blues Starter Kit.
Available Variations
Key Notecarrier R Specs

This battery holder from Keystone Electronics will help you power your project with 3 AA batteries (in series). The holder is terminated in PCB-friendly through-hole PC pins and can be mounted to a custom PCB or any of our Notecarriers.
Notecarrier-A users please note: If you solder this AA holder onto Notecarrier-A using the obvious location on Notecarrier, placing batteries in the holder AND plugging it into USB at the same time will attempt to charge the batteries (if their voltage goes lower than 4.2V). Our recommendation to battery-power a Notecarrier-A design is to attach the batteries to the V+ connector, which avoids conflict between the batteries and charger. Alternatively, you can simply choose to not use USB and AA batteries simultaneously.

- Manufacturer: Keystone Electronics
- Battery Type: Cylindrical
- Battery Cell Size: AA
- Mounting Type: PCB, Through Hole
- Termination Style: PC Pin

With the same core firmware and functionality of Notecard Cellular, Notecard XP is a low-cost option for customers looking to scale with Blues beyond their first few thousand units. Use a Notecard XP Evaluation Kit to evaluate Notecard XP for customer design and volume deployment.
Notecard XP is a field-upgradable, network sunset-resilient alternative to chip down cellular design that allows product builders to incorporate aspects of Notecard hardware into their own PCB to optimize BOM costs for a volume order.
Outside of a custom product design, Notecard XP is intended to be used only with Notecarrier XP, which provides additional hardware needed for the Notecard to function, including an external power supply and external SIM slot and circuitry. Notecard XP cannot be used with any other Blues Notecarrier.
The Notecard XP Starter Kit contains everything needed to begin evaluating Notecard XP for a custom design and volume deployment. If, after evaluation, you would like to utilize Notecard XP as part of your solution, there is a minimum order quantity of Notecard XP in order to receive volume pricing.
Please contact sales if you are interested in learning more.
